Hi Santino,

Thanks for your hard work so far!

I'm in a 10 man, H2H, 8-cat (traditional 8 cats on ESPN), Auction Draft

PG: Kyrie, CP3, Shai

SG: Booker, Sato,

SF: Ingram, J. Rich, Warren

PF: Isaac, Wendell Carter

C: Jokic, M. Turner, Bam

I think my team is pretty well rounded but could use a little more help with steals and threes. Interesting additions on the wire include delon wright, dejounte murray, and gary harris.

Thanks for the review in advance

Sorry for the delay, finally getting around to sending a thanks for your analysis! I was hoping my optimism was founded in the right way, and I hope the strategy to bolster strong shot blockers/good percentages with elite-ish guards early pays off. Good luck, thanks again, and can't wait for the season to start tomorrow!

Thanks for the feedback! Have added Redick to boost up those 3s. Was thinking of dropping McGee for Barnes to shore up both rebounds and 3s, any thoughts?

Yeah I'm not really used to going the balanced route when building my teams but I tried my best lol. True that on the percentages. I guess I'm just gonna have to adapt as I go along, although I think that I at least am pretty secure in the counting stats.

Frozen Bags

I know it's obvious, but Fultz is an easy drop candidate

Scurry and Harkless are solid pickups late

Layman, I'm not familiar with

Holmes always has potential for BLKs and 3Ps, not a bad idea in case he pans out, plus he has a cool name

NYTimes

I'd probably drop Ingram for Harris, and keep an eye on Dejounte in case he has a great start to the year

great team overall

Daniel
(another Dan!!!, what is happening here? is there something I'm not getting?)

very solid team for a 12 team league

since you already have KAt, Mitchell and Sabonis

I'd consider packaging Bam and Carter for a reliable big with good %s and traditional big man stats

the guys on the wire don't sound too appealing

cheers,
Dan

Thanks for the kind words man! Dipo is trending in the right direction and looking closer, but that's still too risky for me to take him in the fifth, especially considering Klaw went earlier. That's a lot of missed games from two of my top five players. In a 14 team roto, that's asking a lot from everyone else. You could use more assists and those two would help there and it looks like they'd put you at 13. They'd help in scoring and treys which you could use right now. I think your defensive numbers and rebounding look pretty good. But it all comes back to how much time those guys miss, and a half a seasons' worth of games combined is entirely possible.

Ok guys, 10TM keeper 8CAT H2H, must keep 2 players for up to 3 season after they are drafted. No round penalty for keeping a player. I took over an orphan team, the team had kept Kyrie and Ayton. Had the 6th pick. Took J. Butler, now I’ll list my full roster.

Kyrie
LaVine
Miles Bridges
Wendell Carter
Ayton
Kemba
Butler
M. Robinson
Bam A.
Jeff Teague
Mikal Bridges
Delon Wright
Gary Harris
PJ Washington
KD.. (going to make him one of my keepers for next year got him in the 9th)

Porzingod,

I'd consider dropping Batum, Thybulle, maybe Baze, and pick up

Portis for PTS and REb
.444
.794
1.5
14.2
8.1

or old school Marvin, who is boring, but underrated, 3's and stocks
.422
.767
1.9
10.1
5.4
1.2
0.9
0.8

I wish you had picked up Austin and Leonard, then you could have had... Bridges over the Rivers Kawhi ... couldn't resist

For keepers, awesome pick up on Durant, but it's a shame that there is no penalty for keeping a player, so you get no reward for grabbing KD late, you might as well keep Butler or Ayton instead

in my league I grabbed John Wall with the 15th pick, KD went in the 7th round, and Klay went around the 10th, but they will all cost that same round to keep the next 2 years

Hey man, I'll be glad to try and help now and in the future just message me on twitter or something. I agree with your assessment of being low on boards and blocks. JV is your best blocking guy in the first 8 rounds and his career avg is 1.0. Mcgee will help a little, but you'll need more than them to make it a non-punt cat. Boards are similarly low with a handful of solid rebounders. You can definitely shoot threes, get assists, get steals and shoot free throws. I like Bazemore and he fits well on your team but needing a big man, I would be okay with dropping him for one. Though, you'll need to facilitate a trade or find a real bargain when injuries strike to solidify the cats. And with the options currently available to you, I think you're better off just keeping him and playing to your strengths. If Powell is out to begin the year maybe a weekly stream of Kleber would be good, but there's not much for him when he returns.

Hi Santino,

I just read the top of the thread, and realised the format you had set up here. What a great idea, and nice of you to be willing to help so much. My bad for commenting on others posts, I thought that in order to get some help from others, I should try to give whatever clumsy help I could in return (as is suggested on other sites).

any advice on what stats I’ll need to pick up?
guys to trade away, or for?

(11 team, roto, 9-cat, 4-player 3-year keeper, yahoo)

Conley/Bledsoe/Dejounte
CJMcC/Shai/Herro
Luca/Otto/JRich
Lauri/Bam
KAT/Ayton/Zach

I traded 3 of my expiring keeper assets for picks in Dec last year, hopefully this is the first year of my dynasty
1. (3) Karl-Anthony Towns (Min – C)
2.K (20) Deandre Ayton  (Pho – C)
3. (25) Mike Conley (Uta – PG)
3* (32) CJ McCollum (Por – PG,SG)
4* (38) Otto Porter (Chi – SF)
4* (39) Eric Bledsoe (Mil – PG)
4. (42) Bam Adebayo (Mia – PF,C)
5. (47) Josh Richardson (Phi – SG,SF)
6.K (64) Luka Doncic  (Dal – PG)
7. (69) Dejounte Murray (SA – PG)
8.K (86) Lauri Markkanen  (Chi – PF)
9. (91) Zach Collins (Por – PF,C)
11. (113) Tyler Herro (Mia – SG)
13.K (135) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC – PG,SG)
15. (157) John Wall (Was – PG)

Thanks again,
Dan
