Team in $200 budget auction league. Take in lots of guidance from B150 and Dan's podcast (hence the DBOMS) as well as fellow HB followers. This is what i ended up with after getting to keep 3 players.

2. LaMarcus Aldridge (SA - PF,C) $24
3. Eric Bledsoe (Mil - PG,SG) $20
4. Thomas Bryant (Was - C) $28

6. Jeremy Lamb (Ind - SG,SF) $16
7. Cody Zeller (Cha - PF,C) $2
8. Kent Bazemore (Por - SG,SF) $3
9. Dwight Powell (Dal - PF,C) $4
10. Matisse Thybulle (Phi - SF) $8
Keepers
11. Jonathan Isaac (Orl - SF,PF) $14
12. Bam Adebayo (Mia - PF,C) $3
13. Luka Doncic (Dal - PG) $27
Think i will do well in defensive stats. The only concern for me is i have a couple of injured/injury prone guys, and some uncertain minutes rotation in Powell, Thybulle, Baze. But i guess thats what you get with DBOMS! Overall pretty happy with my draft. What your take?
Good evening Santino, this thread is a time warp, came on to post my team but have spent the past hour reading all the other teams and responses, awesome awesome stuff.
My team is in a 16 team H2H league with the following settings (FG%), (FT%), (3PTM), (PTS), (REB), (AST), (ST), (BLK), (TO), (TECH)
I had the first pick and went with my heart, I have KAT in a dynasty league, so I grabbed him here too.
(1) KAT
(32) Zion (soon after I heard he was injured.....smh)
(33) Cp3
(64) Brogdon
(65) Brook Lopez
(96) Lou Will
(97) Lamb
(128) JaVale
(129) Herro
(160) PJ Tucker
(161) Bertans
(192) Anfernee Simons
(193) Bruce Brown
With Zion going on to IR I have a waiver claim to replace him with Hayes, Holmes or Nunn.
I really didn't like picking from the 1 spot, but overall im reasonably happy with my squad.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts,
Thanks mate

2 a risk with the last two picks.
Hey Santino! Just drafted in an 18-team H2H 9-Cat league. I picked 7th.
Guards: Damian Lillard (7), Terry Rozier (79), Darius Garland (138), Goran Dragic (151)
Wings: Otto Porter (66), Miles Bridges (102), Norman Powell (174), Rodions Kurucs (187), Jake Layman (210), Luke Kennard (223)
Bigs: John Collins (30), Clint Capela (43), Zach Collins (115)
Was looking at a better big/point guard at my 66th and 102nd pick but Otto Porter and Miles Bridges were just too much to pass up. Sadly got Thybulle and PJ Washington sniped a couple of picks before my 174th pick.
I'm definitely gonna try trading away one of my wings for a big, even a low-end one.
What do you think?
Thanks man. It is an auction league and decided to go with depth instead of stars. Hope you are right I wasn’t too sure about it.
Would love some feedback on my team below. Standard 9 cat on a 10 teamer.
(5) Karl-Anthony Towns
(16) Kemba Walker
(25) Mitchell Robinson
(36) Mike Conley
(45) John Collins
(56) Chris Paul
(65) Otto Porter Jr.
(76) Robert Covington
(85) Kevin Love
(96) Gordon Hayward
(105) Jeff Teague
(116) JJ Redick
(125) Brandon Clarke
Ahh, yes, an auction makes more sense
More PT just opened up for NAW with Zion out and the rotation shifting down. I'd put him at 1 between those three now.
You should have an open roster spot with Powell expected to miss a few games. I'd add Bertans from that group. You have a lot of shooting, but he's still the best available guy there and should be rostered.
I agree with you that you got solid value all around. Conley has been dropping a bit lower in drafts, but not enough that he'd be coming back to you. You have a strong collection of wings and guards, but your bigs could use some help. As you mentioned, boards and boards are very weak. I'd throw in fg% as well for being sub-par in. Your team can get steals, triples, assists and shoot well from the ft line. Turnovers and points will be hit or miss.
You're deep in the guard department and I'd look into moving one to try and compensate for your lack of bigs. you'll need quite a bit of help there though. This is a solid team, but I think that your opponents will be able to attack your Achilles heal more often than not.
The dreaded (almost) turn, and a deep turn nonetheless. I'm on board with Drummond as that pick though. For all the flack he gets for ft%, he's elite in 4 other cats and scores about 17ppg. That more than makes up for him being selected here. Last year he was the leading rebounder (again), top 10 in steals and blocks, and finished 22nd in fg% overall, but only 2 players ahead of him shot more shots than him. I'm surprised that more people can't look past his flaw and accept that he's a monster, but such is life.
Speaking of his flaw, you masked it pretty well with your next three picks being great ft shooters (the next couple after changed it back, but whatever). The trip of point guards were standard and with Paul and Conley dropping a bit lower than normal. Even though you backcourt loaded, you can't pass that value up.
All that said, I agree with what you said. You have good value with your picks, but they don't really fit a clean puzzle. You have Dre but not another big inside the top 100. You have free throw shooters to offset Dre, but more bigs that struggle from the line later on. Trea's gonna score, but there's not many other bucket getters after.
In all, you'll be strong in assists, steals, and threes. You have some sneaky blocks potential which will be a stat you can take. Dre will give you a boost in boards, but you don't have the pieces around him to fully take advantage of what he brings. fg% is another stat you look to be pretty good in considering. The team looks scrappy enough to fight in a good amount of stats on most weeks and win, but there's just something off here, in which I agree with you on. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's there. But hey, that's why they play the games.
It's looking likely that Powell may miss a few games to start the season and that should fix your problem for a few days (assuming he does).
Santino! Thank you for the advice. Let me follow this up by saying EVERY STAT is worth 1 point only; turnovers are -1. Does that change anything for you? It’s a Yahoo league, btw.
Also, I got Klay and WCS as back end guys with the last 2 picks of the draft to stash for down the road. WCS May be worth a drop though with the way the points system falls off... likely as some other as well.
Thank you for the kind words! Also, your breakdown was awesome, you already have my job covered for me!
Harden at 5? Staples has a big red button for that pick. Trae is pretty standard there as well, as is Booker. You have elite threes, scoring, ft% and assists through thre rounds. There's a chance Capela could have dropped to the 5th in a ten teamer. I like JJJ's upside more and that would've been my choice, but he's a fine consolation seeing as you had more of a need for a traditional big. Bam would have been perfect! Porter isn't a bad settle, but another guy who could have fell a round in a 10 teamer. You needed another C and Bryant is a good choice. I wouldn't have minded a Whiteside (in the next round) either to pair another shot-blocker/big-time rebounder with Capela. Pretty standard for Shai. Your scoring is off the charts. Bagley was still hanging around at 76? I like both of them and Carter's defensive potential is more of a use to you, but his injury woes would have pushed me Bagley's way. Still fine with either. Ball is just a surplus luxury for you at this point. You have so many guards, you don't need them all. Still, have to take the talent here and find a trade partner another time. Hayward is boring, yeah, but top 100 value should be easily attainable for him. And maybe there's a Celtics fan who wants him more than most. Your last few picks all made sense especially the two big men. You have insane scoring guards and you could use continued help in the frontcourt.
For a league this shallow, Thybulle is a wait-and-see guy. The team is still loaded and he's not going to get enough minutes right now to be worth rostering. If that changes then yes, get him. 2 for 1's will be crucial for you, especially if you can add more bigs. This team is good and you got value at the back end of the draft, but the one weakness is big men. Even without them you're still capable of taking enough cats each week, but another impact big would have you sitting pretty
Santino! Would love your feedback on my roster construction: 12-team, 9 cat, H2H league in Yahoo. I thought I liked my team but I feel like I’m lacking in a lot of categories. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
