I get the anxiety haha, I can't even imagine a 24 team dynasty.
I don't have a problem with Mitch that at 19 if you like him. Isaac wasn't bad, but it would have been ideal if you were able to move back even a bit. Yeah, you know what was going on better than I do during the draft. Clarke went in the 3rd round? Maybe Isaac wouldn't have lasted then.
Wow a ton of trade! That's awesome to be a part of. You had a lot of interesting trades and I see you dealt away future picks but also committed to the youth movement. You did give a lot to get Mitch and it was just two spots up. I'm assuming he was going to get taken by one of the two guys.
Yeah, I can see your point about throwing in some crazy leagues to supplement the normal ones. It seems interesting to try some of these, but yeah it would be tough to not be able to trade or pick anyone up all year. And only COusins as of now (hopefully I don't jinx you haha). I like Murray as a player, and he was great the last time he was healthy and playing for the Spurs, but they may manage him coming off that injury and yeah if he finishes top 80, you wouldn't really get any ROI for where you got him if you know what I mean. Though, that'd still be a positive pick.
That's not a bad strategy to take in this crazy type of league where you can't replace someone who doesn't live up to expectations. But yeah your bigs were behind the 8-ball from the get-go, Cousins crushed any hopes of them doing something lol. For fg% you have good scorers for high-volume shooters, but traditionally big men have a much higher fg% than guards. Add in the high-volume big men, and the difference grows more. With you not really having any bigs who shoot, that is why I say that. But yeah, you should be good in the majority of cats, and like I said no turnovers is a boon for you. Both these leagues are different and challenging, and I hope they work out for you! I'm sure your normal leagues are going to be a breath of fresh air when you draft them.
Thank you for responding again, this was fun. I enjoy talking to a like-minded fantasy personality! Keep up the hard work!
Hey mate, Great work so far! Loving the level of the detail, it’s really appreciated!
So I’m in a 14 team standard 9cat H2H league, and I landed the first overall pick. It seemed like people were relying too hard on the ESPN rankings which really jumbled where I thought players would go so decent players kept falling to me. My team is as follows:
Anthony Davis
Jrue Holiday
John Collins
Otto Porter
Mitch Robinson
Bam Adebayo
Jeremy Lamb
Delon Wright
TJ Warren
Marcus Smart
Mikal Bridges
Darius Garland
Kent Bazemore
Any help or tips are appreciated!!

Starting with Giannis gives you a head start over most teams with his insane (and still growing) diverse skillset. Turner and Booker went where they should, and so did Bledsoe. While I do like Tatum to bounce back this year, I think early 5th (I'm assuming you had an early pick with Giannis) is early. In comparison to the above posts, that's the earliest Tatum has gone in any of them. Bridges is another who I also like but went maybe round earlier than he has been in previous posts. They have good upside and can definitely return value, but ideally, you'd want to get them without reaching up. I like Bojan but he's in a less favorable destination as he is no longer the go-to scorer like he was for the most part last year. While there is talk of Big Rob starting, Kanter makes for a solid fantasy role player. I like Saric playing next to Rubio, but having three Suns might be too much, and his defensive numbers have been nonexistent since entering the league. I do wonder if you'll want 3 Suns players trotting out there though. Monk is a decent flier at the end of drafts in hopes he can carve out a larger role with the Hornets in what looks like a rebuilding year.
I think you'll be competitive because having Giannis will do that, and your first handful of picks are all high-caliber players in this league and will carry you to wins on some occasions. The back end of the draft leaves a bit to be desired, as there's nothing that really sticks out. Preferably I'd like to see a few more swings in the back end for higher ceiling type of guys, but you went with Tucker and Bazemore. No offense to them, but Giannis affords you the chance to take a risk or two back there, and since it is a standard league there may be quite a few names that have breakout potential left. The last 4/5 picks of the draft in a standard-sized league left a lot to be desired. I'd check the wire and see what's out there for the last few spots.
Yeah I may have over reached a bit for Bridges and forgot about Warren where I drafted Bojan.
I dropped Tucker and Monk for Time Lord and Isaiah thomas to see if those to can give me more output.
Booker, Rubio and Saric. Who'd you stick with?
Thanks for the inputs.
Since I don't know what pick you had or what rounds they were in, I'm going to go off a guess as to where you went with everyone.
Curry and Drummond make for a fantastic pairing where you cover every category (elite-ly) in the first two picks. I'm a fan of Collins, and maybe the Hawks in general. they're a fun young team to watch play. While I would personally shy away from him in the third and go for someone who brings more defensive numbers to my team, he is a goof pick to round out a very good top 3.
Bledsoe and Lowry are great supplements to your first three picks and really give you a top-notch guard allotment. Through five picks you've covered every basis and are most certainly elite in steals. Brook looks like your pick in round six and while he somehow has a career average under 7 rebounds per game at 7'0" 270lbs, he's been hitting threes at an elite rate the past few years and will hover near 2 blocks per game which is valuable. A year stronger Hayward is another nice supplement to the squad as he looks to return to his all-around fantasy-friendly ways and take on a larger leadership role.
The underrated old man Millsap is another good supplemental pick. Ibaka may find himself in a starting role at some point should the Raptors decide to trade Gasol who is an impending free agent. Love the Barrett pick for many reasons, and Onunoby is a great lottery ticket towards the end of drafts as he should get the first crack at starting on the wing. Warren as well looked good before going down, and will get the opportunity to start in Indiana.
I like this team a lot for the balance. It is balanced from guard to bigs, balanced to compete in every category, and outside of the studs you have safe boring guys balanced out with exciting high-upside guys. Yes, I said the word balance a few times there haha, but that's what this team is. You'll be able to compete in every category each week.
They are still talented and as I said may very well still beat that draft spot, but ideally, you'd want to get the most bang for your buck. Sometimes though, you have to go a bit earlier for someone you really like. Yes, Big Rob is a great flier, as he's getting talked about to potentially start and at the very least have a big role. He averaged over a block a game and barely even played and wasn't in the best of shape last year. IT2 is another nice flier at the end of the team. Worst case you replace him, which you do with the end of the bench guys anyway. Best case, he resembles a bit of the player he used to be before getting injured. As the likely second option for a bad Wizards team, it's worth the risk.
Booker and Rubio haha. You won't get much, if anything, for Saric right now, so I'd wait it out for now unless another exciting player is out there. You drafted Booker and Rubio high and both fit in well with your team.
Haha yeah, I agree with you on the ESPN rankings as well. That's the site I mainly use, not because it's the best but I've been using it for years so I just stick with it, and I like how they ranked people because it helps me out.
The first thing that sticks out to me is Mitchell Robinson in the 5th round. Wow. With how he finished last year, and the hype that he is getting, paired with being a Knick, and not to mention his talent, I am completely baffled how he lasted that long (Pick 57!) I can say now, that this will easily be the latest he goes in any team I see.
That's a preface of saying that this team is loaded. While you are low on guards and are going to struggle in assists and threes while being decent in ft%, but the rest of the categories are loaded. Your bigs are fantastic with AD and Mitch, Collins and Bam Bam. You didn't take another big after that which is odd, but the Mitch value is insane enough.
Your defensive numbers all around are great with so many players who rack up steals and people who can get pitch in with some blocks to supplement the big guns. I wouldn't have drafted Lamb there but you did need a shooter. Overall for a deeper 14 man draft, I think your first 6 rounds went better than you could have possibly hoped for and you set yourself up for success the rest of the way. You were able to get the Wright later with the veteran Smart and two good wilcards in Mikal and Garland who have the potential to crush those ADP's if things fall correctly.
So two drafts in the matter of a few days with different approaches. While this is a deeper league and you weren't fortunate enough to start with Giannis this time, I like this team overall better.
The Pelicans are going to be a fun team to watch, and if not for trade value alone Zion is going to be chief among the fun. Everyone is going to want a piece of the prized number one overall pick and I am sure they will be paying up a premium, should you make him available, after a few games if he does as expected. I like the Kevin Love pick. He was a top 20 pick last year in what is essentially the same situation. You got him pretty late and with some health he'll easily beat that ROI. Levert going so early looks weird, though it's because of a deeper draft, but he has an exciting skillset and is bound too swing your team one way or the other.
Powell and Collins were great picks at that price. Collins, in particular, is a popular breakout candidate. He should have the PF position all to himself for a while. that's a late rounder with big upside that I mentioned in the last post. Your last two picks are big upside guys as well with Garland and Bacon. Garland is a top 5 pick this year and will get the chance to pay a lot of minutes for a bad team. That is usually a recipe for fantasy goodness. How him and Sexton play together is the key there. As for Bacon, he's being looked at as one of the main scorers on a rebuilding Hornets squad. If he proves up to the task, that'll be an easy ROI for your last pick in a deeper league.
I didn't mention Leonard, Jrue, and Bledsoe who are all known commodities at this point and should deliver what you expect. I also left out SGA who I touched on in previous posts. Pick 84 is good for him and the sooner he gets the keys to the city the better his fantasy game is going to be for it. Until then, he'll still be a primary scorer on a team that will be looking to sell off their veteran pieces throughout the season.
Even though the draft was deeper I thought you did a much better job here and got value throughtout.

Another very deep league, 18 teams is a tough one. I'm curious what pick did you have and are these in order? I'm assuming you were at the back end of the draft which in itself is a tough spot in a league as deep as this. Jrue is great, but not ideal in the first, but thus is life in a deep league.
Taking it at face value, you have usually had 30+ picks in-between your even to odd round picks, which is a long time. For that reason, I can see why you had to jump to some guys you liked earlier than normal. Starting with Brogdon. I've seen others get him later so far, but you had to take him roughly in the top 60 because he wasn't coming back around. The same can be said for Mikal who went around the top 80. He does have that kind of upside, but he seems more attainable to get if you waited back to your selections. I do like how the back end of your draft played out, with numerous players with good upside. Having both Ish and Isaiah can either be annoying or good fortune as they'll likely split time unless one establishes themselves or gets hurt. IT has the potential if he can prove his health but Ish has been an above-average fantasy player in the past when given the opportunity. Powell is another guy looking to step into a more prominent role after the team's departure. He could very well win that starting 2-guard role and be a nice source of steals and threes with a jump in scoring. I'm with my colleagues on Holmes, he is an underrated player and if he can earn the lions share of minutes wil be a valuable contributor.
This team can definitely hit triples and should get a good amount of steals while being above average at not turning the ball over. It doesn't stick out in much anything else, but the deep nature of this league will do that to most everyone. This team has a lot of young guys looking to take the next step forward, which gives a high-ceiling/low-floor baseline. You could end up on either side of the spectrum. You do have a few breakout candidates as well. it'l be interesting to see what ultimately happens in the end. You should hit on at least a few guys but it's never a given.

Awesome thread man! Great work!
Hey Santiago love your work. Looking for feedback on my teams. I had pick 5 in a 10 team league 9 cat H2H. My opinion is I’m not extremely weak in any cat (rebs and points maybe) but not extremely strong in any cat also. Taking a few risks (more than I hoped) on players. I was one or 2 picks off landing the ideal player in some spots but that’s how it goes.

Thinking of picking up Z Collins (see how he goes if he starts) when I IL George. Might pick up T.Thompson to carry my rebs also. George at 16 was right on the line of to draft him or not. Hopefully Curry can carry me for the first few weeks and he’s back by mid Nov.
Thank you
