Jonas Valanciunas scored 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting with a playoff franchise-record 19 rebounds and one block in Saturday’s deflating Game 1 loss at home to the Pacers.

Valanciunas fouled out after 21 minutes and there was some controversy with the calls and also the stat keeping on those boards, but whatever the case may be he has to stay on the floor to give the offense some semblance of balance.  The Pacers have good personnel to defend the Raptors’ normally overpowering backcourt and Valanciunas will be a good counter to that.  Bismack Biyombo was good in his role with six points, eight boards and two blocks in 24 minutes, and Patrick Patterson (nine points, one three, six boards, one block, 28 minutes) needs to play better defense in the next one.
