PG, New Orleans Pelicans

A day after the Pelicans waived him, Dairis Bertans has signed a two-year contract with Russian Euroleague club Khimki.

On March 1st, Bertans signed a multi-year deal with the Pelicans, but in 12 games, he never found his footing, shooting just 25.5 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from behind the arc. Bertans was brought in by former interim GM Danny Ferry and it’s logical to see him depart after the regime change that put David Griffin in full control of basketball ops in New Orleans. Bertans is already 29 years old so we shouldn’t expect to see him back in the NBA any time soon.
