We’ll be looking at streamers each week for the rest of the season to help you reach the not-too-distant H2H playoffs. You can also use these hitter and pitcher streamers to boost your Roto categories as the season heads to its final weeks. We have five hitters and five pitchers who are poised to be great streamers this week!
NOTE: We’ll focus on roster rates of 40% or less as shown in Yahoo.
HITTERS
A. J. Ewing – 2B/OF – Mets – 25%
Ewing is having an exellent rookie campaign (.266 with seven homers and 15 steals) and is poised for another good week. Mets hitters face one of the most hitter-friendly schedules this week as they take on the Braves (miss Chris Sale) then enjoy a series against one of MLB’s worst staffs in the Nationals over the weekend. Ewing tends to sit against lefties but the Mets face just two of them this week.
Masataka Yoshida – OF – Red Sox – 3%
You probably haven’t thought about Yoshida much this year but this is a week to pay attention. Like almost everyone on the Red Sox, Yoshida has been on fire lately. He is batting .317 during the past six weeks, scoring 14 runs and driving in 15 more in just 25 games. The lefty swinger faces only right-handed pitchers this week. The only slight drawback is that two of them are Cease and Skenes.
NOTE: An illness kept Yoshida out of the starting lineup over the weekend but hopefully he’ll be ready for action by Monday.Jake Burger – 1B – Rangers – 21%
The Rangers have good volume this week because they’re among just six teams that play a full seven-game schedule. They’re all on the road, too, which is great news for Burger because he has some pretty stark home/away splits partly due to pitching-friendly Globe Life Field. Here’s even better news: The Rangers play four games against a poor Angels staff and then enjoy a series in Sacramento against the A’s. Fry up a Burger this week!
