The season is over and the fantasy fat lady has sung, so itโs time to put down the championship champagne and start thinking about next season. I picked out 10 Dynasty Buy Lows and 10 Fantasy Sell Highs that should give you plenty to think about over the next five months. Iโm not sure I agree with myself on Jeremiah Fears, but the logic makes sense, while the potential MVP winner somehow qualifies as a buy low — at least in my book.
Dynasty Buy Low
Victor Wembanyama
It feels weird to call Wemby a buy-low player, but given his injuries and low minutes this season, I think itโs warranted, despite the fact he might be named MVP. Wemby appeared in 64 regular-season games (the NBA Cup Final counted as his 65th) and played just 29.2 minutes per game, which could end up being the reason he doesnโt win MVP.
Wemby played 33.2 minutes per game last season and I expect his minutes to be there again next year. He was coming off a blood-clot-shortened season and the Spurs clearly babied him this year, but I think the kid gloves are coming off in his fourth season. Look for Wemby to play in 70 games next season and log about 33 minutes per game. With the extra games and minutes, along with the fact the Spurs might be favored to win it all next season, Wemby is only going to get better as long as he can stay healthy.
Dynasty managers should be doing whatever they can to get their hands on Wembanyama this offseason, as the sky is still the limit and Nikola Jokic will be 32 years old by the end of next season. Wemby is going to go bonkers for the next 10 years.
