Fantasy Baseball Weekly Streamers: August 31- September 6

    Here are some weekly streamers to consider this week as we race toward H2H playoffs and the stretch run for Roto leagues. We’ll focus on roster rates of 40% or less as shown in Yahoo as of August 30.

    HITTERS

    Themes:
    – The Rockies are home at Coors Field all week – yay!!
    – The Orioles and Cardinals are the two lucky teams who play at Coors this week
    – The A’s are away from Sacramento all week so feel free to bench their marginal hitters

    Mickey Moniak – OF – Rockies – 31%
    TJ Rumfield – 1B – Rockies – 30%
    Cole Carrigg – SS/OF – Rockies – 16%
    Connor Norby – 1B/2B/3B – Rockies – 13%

    Let’s go all-in on a hot summer week at Coors! This quartet of hitters covers every position except for catcher so I’m sure you can add at least one or two of them to your teams.

    Moniak has slumped in August but he poised for a rebound with this week’s home cooking. Coors makes a huge difference for him as he is hitting .294/.335/.667 at Coors and just .205/.262/.333 on the road. His stats include 17 HRs at home and just four on the road. Note: Moniak isn’t good against lefties and may be benched on Tuesday and Saturday when the Rockies face southpaws.

    TJ Rumfield is more even keeled than Moniak. First, his lefty/righty splits aren’t nearly as dramatic so he is a little less prone to being benched against southpaws. Also, his batting average is nearly identical in or out of Coors. Overall, the rookie is hitting .289/.381/.438 with 13 homers and 61 RBI. He’s worth a look this week unless you need steals (he has none!).

    Cole Carrigg is a switch-hitting rookie who has held his own in his first 67 MLB games by hitting .263 with six homers and eight steals. He is a good addition this week because he especially favors Coors (.302 compared to .230 on the road) and the two lefties won’t faze him (.284 compared to .244 against righties).

    Connor Norby is hitting just .225 this year but he makes this list because of his recent accomplishments. Since being recalled from the minors in early August, he is hitting a much better .302/.403/.509 with two homers, nine RBI and two steals in just 17 games. He is a hot-hand play in a great hitting environment this week. Be brave!
