• Every Sunday this season, I will share my pitching guide for that week. It will include a table of the projected 2-start starting pitchers and their opponents, with my recommendations on starts and sits, plus my pitching streams for the week.

For my recommended pitching streams, I will only suggest pitchers who are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues. All starts are projected, but are subject to change due to injury, a team deciding to have a bullpen day, expand to a six-man rotation, etc. Stats are through Sunday morning.

    Monday, May 11

    None

With only six games on Monday and only three starters available in more than 50% of leagues, the choices are slim. Caden Dana making his 2026 debut? Tatsuya Imai coming off of the IL and a poor rehab showing? Roki Sasaki with only one good start under his belt? Let’s not ruin our ERA and WHIP on day 1 of the week and stream no one on Monday.

    Patrick Corbin – TOR – vs TBR – 5%

Corbin hasn’t been fantastic for the Blue Jays, but he has been steady. Over his last five starts, he has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each, just one total home run and walked eight, striking out 18 in the process, over 26 innings. He has limited quality contact, 5.3% barrel rate, even though he has a slightly elevated hard hit rate, 42.7%, and a too high line drive rate, 30.7%. He does, however, have just a 28% fly ball rate and a very good 41.3% ground ball rate and has gotten batter to chase 30% of his pitches.

The Rays have not enjoyed facing left-handed pitchers on the road this season, posting a 79 wRC+, the ninth lowest in the league, to go along with a .624 OPS, also ninth lowest, and a 22.8% strikeout rate. They have the third highest ground ball rate, 50.8%, fourth lowest fly ball rate, 29.4%, and middle of the pack soft and hard hit rates. They have the most plate appearances against lefties on the road this season, yet they are tied for the eighth fewest home runs, four, with the Athletics, have just the eighth most runs, 28, tied with the Red Sox and are tied for the tenth fewest extra base hits, 11, with the Brewers, Mets and Phillies.

    J.T. Ginn – ATH – vs STL – 2%

Ginn just absolutely shut down the Phillies, tossing eight innings, striking out eight, walking one and allowing one earned run, a solo home run. He had a 6:1 ground ball to fly ball rate, allowed just one barrel, had a 31% chase rate and a 10.4% swinging strike rate. He’s made six starts this season and has allowed more than three earned runs only once, with a 27:13 K:BB over 30.1 innings. He has a 53.8% ground ball rate and has allowed just four home runs.

The Cardinals have been an above average offense when facing right-handed pitching on the road over the past month, but not by much. They have a 107 wRC+, a .742 OPS and a 28.3% strikeout rate, the second worst in the league. They hit slightly more fly balls than ground balls, have a middle of the pack hard hit rate and the seventh lowest line drive rate. This isn’t a perfect matchup, but this is the “best” of the worst, if you will.
