Weather Impacts on Your Fantasy Players (Friday, April 25 to Thursday, May 1)

  • No snow at Coors this time, thank goodness.

Remember last week’s snow-out at Coors? No such problems this week. Friday’s weather in Denver isn’t good (temps in the 40s!) but expect great hitting weather Saturday and Sunday as temperatures skyrocket into the 70s and 80s. More good news – gusty breezes will be blowing out Saturday and Sunday. Load up your Reds and Rockies hitters but bench those pitchers!

Friday and/or Saturday look wet in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and along the East Coast. We could see a few rainouts that will complicate your weekend hitting and pitching plans.

Where are the best and worst weather conditions for your hitters in the next seven days? I’m glad you asked – here they are! Let’s look at this weekend in detail then glance ahead to early next week.

TARGETS: This Weekend’s Best Hitting Environments

    • Atlanta at Arizona (Friday and Saturday; open roof for these two evening games with temperatures between 82 and 85 degrees)
    • Cincinnati at Colorado (Saturday and Sunday; unfavorably cold weather on Friday but much better as temps climb to 72 Saturday and maybe 85+ on Sunday! Outbound winds at Coors will further help hitters Sat & Sun.)
    • Toronto at NY Yankees (Sunday only; it will be chilly but winds will blow out to right field at 15-25 mph making Yankee Stadium’s famous short porch seem even shorter!)
