I have the hottest guy in baseball along with an infielder/outfielder and two relief pitchers as recommendations this week. All are poised to help you right now so let’s go!
* Note: Although all listed roster percentages are from Yahoo, at the time of the writing of this article, most of our waiver wire recommendations are widely available across all major platforms. *
Tristan Peters – OF – White Sox – 31%
I laughed in July when I saw Tristan Peters (“Who?”) in the All-Star Game but I’m not laughing now.
Entering Friday, Peters was the hottest guy in baseball after homering in FIVE consecutive games! What?!?! That’s obviously not sustainable but how can you not jump aboard this HR Express? Maybe the ride ends soon but it’s worth a try, especially since Peters was doing well even before this hot streak.
Overall, he’s hitting .282 with 12 homers and 52 RBI. I admit that he is overperforming (xBA is .256) but I’ll also admit that I don’t care. After all, time is running out and we need every ounce of performance that we can get. Peters is a lefty swinger but he’ll play every day because the White Sox won’t face a southpaw for at least the next seven days. Also, their schedule is great as they have 10 straight games against the Twins (no Joe Ryan) and the terrible/injured Astros staff. What’s not to like?
Sam Antonacci – 2B/3B/OF – White Sox – 29%
