If you read this column earlier in the week, you saw that Friday was forecast to be this week’s rainiest day. That’s still true. Unfortunately, it now looks like Saturday and Sunday won’t be much drier than Friday. I expect several weekend games will be threatened by rain. Watch out for some long delays and/or postponements.

It’s hard to escape the rain because so many of this weekend’s games are slated for the east third of the U.S. – right in line with the widespread storm system. The best hitting environments will be in the few games that are being played in domes as well as in Los Angeles. Ordinarily, Oakland is a haven from rain, and that will be true on Friday and Sunday – but not on Saturday when it may rain there, too. Sheesh!
