I have three hitters and a starting pitcher that you should consider adding to your team asap. Some could be a rest-of-season hold while others might be more of a short-term pickup, but all four can give you a boost as we quickly head toward H2H playoffs.
* Note: Although all listed roster percentages are from Yahoo, at the time of the writing of this article, most of our waiver wire recommendations are widely available across all major platforms. *
Josh Bell – 1B – Twins – 30%
Do not let Josh Bell remain on your waiver wire. I don’t care how boring you think he is, the man is getting the job done and needs to be rostered. For the love of fantasy baseball, get Bell – now!
Bell has a great chance to be available on your wire despite quietly having a very good season. I first highlighted Bell six weeks ago when he was ranked as a Top 125 player on Yahoo and Top 100 by Fangraphs. And now? He’s even better – Yahoo ranks him at No. 100 and he is a Top 75 overall player in Fangraphs. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
I know that Josh Bell is one of the most boring names out there, but who cares about a name? What matters most is that Bell is having a very good season. He is hitting .258/.321/.433 with 17 homers and 77 RBI. Bell has been particularly good lately (hitting over .350 so far in August) and can easily help your team in at least three categories. Just don’t expect any stolen bases because he has just five in 11 years.
Nolan Arenado – 3B – Diamondbacks – 27%
