All four of our pickups today are rostered in under 14% of leagues, with a potential league-winning closer and bulk reliever to help your niche needs as you chase a fantasy title.
Cole Carrigg – SS/OF – Rockies – 14% Rostered
A slow last two weeks not withstanding, Carrigg has made the most of his impressive toolset in his rookie season, slashing .260/.341/.438 with 6 HR and 8 steals over 69 games. As with most Rockies hitters, he’s performed even better at home, hitting .299 at Coors Field, and he’ll play every game this week at Coors against the Orioles and Cardinals.
His newly gained SS eligibility adds massively to his value amidst a flurry of middle infield injuries, and the speed and power production appears to be sustainable with impressive bat speed and swing speed numbers. Carrigg can serve as a rotation player in any league, leveraging his games as Coors Field as a starter, and using him from the bench when the Rockies play on the road. A must roster in 12 team leagues, the versatility holds extra value for playoff teams, allowing you to consolidate your roster to spend other spots on streamers.
Elvis Alvarado – RP – Athletics – 12% Rostered
