The MLB trade deadline day ended up being a very busy day, ending what was a very productive five day period of trading.
Some teams were winners, some teams were losers, but all told, they completed well over 30 total trades.
No superstar level talent was moved (don’t tell that to Jazz Chisholm Jr., though), but star level players were moved for an abundance of prospects and young players alike.
In this edition of trade deadline winners, we, the fantasy baseball group at Sports Ethos, got together and determined who we think gained the most in dynasty leagues, based on all the moves made. Some benefitted because they were traded and others benefitted because of who was traded away.
Let’s dive in and find out who these dynasty league winners are.
Jeff Clowers (@EthosJeff)
– Michael Kopech – Reclamation pitching project with incredible stuff? And they’re now with the Dodgers? Sometimes it’s that simple. It might take a little time, hence why he’s in the dynasty section, but Kopech couldn’t have asked for a better landing spot.
– Ty France – I still don’t quite understand the Mariners’ decision to swap France for Justin Turner but I’m sure France is thankful for the opportunity to ply his craft in Cincinatti, where he can take advantage of Great American Ballpark. Once Christian Encarnacion-Strand returns from injury later this season, playing time will be harder to come by but France could be the primary DH option next year, spelling CES at first on occasion.
– Jazz Chisholm, Jr. – Two home runs in his first game is a pretty good way to kick things off if you ask me! Get used to those types of performances too, as outside of Cincinnati, there isn’t a ballpark more-suited to Jazz’s particular hitting skillset, with his xHR at Yankee Stadium being 20, which is five more than his current 15. It’s short porch szn, baby!
