Here’s the second version of our new weekly streaming series where we look for the best hitting and pitching streamers for the upcoming week. We focus on players who are rostered at 40% or less on Yahoo’s platform.
I am particularly excited about streaming pitchers this week. Some weeks offer few options but streamers are plentiful this week. Even better is the fact that several of these pitchers were recommended last week and each one was a big success. They have good matchups again this week and are still rostered at less than 40%, so let’s run it back!
HITTERS
Nathaniel Lowe – 1B – Guardians – 3%
Although Nathaniel Lowe looks like an option in only the deepest of leagues (3% lol), I actually love him as a streamer this week. The Guardians have a great schedule by facing a weak Giants staff for three games then playing the Rockies in three games at Coors Field. Lowe sits against most lefties and does his best work against righties, so this week’s schedule is nearly perfect because he’ll face just one lefty.
Cole Carrigg – OF – Rockies – 25%
Speaking of the Rockies and Coors, let’s chat about Cole Carrigg. The rookie is hitting and impressive .291/.373/.484 with five homers and seven steals in his first 55 games. The Rockies schedule this week is a mixed bag but mostly good, especially for Carrigg. All six of their games are at Coors. Although the first three are against the mighty Dodgers, he’ll face two lefties which plays into his splits (.321 vs LHP; .267 vs RHP). He’ll face two more lefties when the Guardians come to town at the end of the week, making a grand total of four games against lefty starters. This is the week to stream Carrigg.
Cam Smith – OF – Astros – 19%
I know, I know… you’re already tired of Cam Smith and his still-unrealized potential. Well, there are two reasons why he makes this week’s streaming report. First, he has recently been on a roll. Smith was blistering the ball at a .357/.386/.643 clip with three homers in 11 August games heading into Sunday’s action. Reason No. 2 is his schedule. The Astros face two of MLB’s worst pitching staffs this week by playing the Angels and the A’s. This is probably the best time to give Smith a try.
