    Kyrie Irving
    PG, Brooklyn Nets

Despite Kyrie Irving’s statements that the Nets need more pieces to win, the trade deadline seems likely to come and go without the team being involved in any major deals.

Realistically, any move the Nets make will have to be one that works in tandem with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Nets’ middle tier of players — Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince — could theoretically be used to bring back a significant piece, but the gap between how incoming and outgoing salary is calculated makes any deal messy and unlikely. That leaves Wilson Chandler and second-year players such as Rodions Kurucs, Dzanan Musa and Theo Pinson, all of which are hard to generate any significant interest. Long story short, whatever move the Nets make is likely to be small, not seismic.
