SportsEthosians around the world, welcome back to our International Dynasty Spotlight feature!
Just like every year, there has been a lot of player movement in the offseason and we are already seeing the results of it a few weeks into the year, with a few guys having career-years and some others having a hard time adjusting to their new environment.
With everyone participating in dynasty formats these days, I took the time to locate the hidden (or not) value of a few international guys and whether their stock will continue to plummet or is here to stay.
Keep in mind that trades are a necessary tool in order for our teams to evolve and become better and it’s always good to know whether a player is fool’s gold or the real deal.
Without further ado, here are three guys whose stock I’m buying and three guys that I’m not touching in fantasy dynasty formats.
Buying stock
Deni Avdija, Washington Wizards, 21 years old, Israel
Preseason Yahoo ADP: N/A | Current Yahoo Rank: 213
The Wizards have surprisingly been one of the pleasant stories of the season so far and one player that is finally starting to get to his own is Avdija. It’s pretty evident that the game has slowed down for the Israeli forward, who is making a difference not only as a soccer but with his rebounding and playmaking as well. In the last 10 games, Deni has averaged 10.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.0 triple, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks, showing the versatility that characterizes him on a consistent basis and the future looks bright for the young star (only 21 years old) who remains humble and keeps putting in the necessary work to become better.

Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets, 20 years old, Turkey
Preseason Yahoo ADP: 68 | Current Yahoo Rank: 57
Selling or Staying Away
Rudy Gobert, Minnesota Wolves, 30 years old, France
Preseason Yahoo ADP: 28 | Current Yahoo Rank: 30
Don’t get me wrong, Rudy’s numbers have been equally impressive this year, with only his blocks coming down and his FT percentage slightly climbing up. However, what is troubling me is the lack of chemistry and the horrible body language that the Wolves have shown so far this season. To this point, the Wolves have obviously not gotten the results that they were hoping for after trading away the entire barn for Gobert over the offseason, but what’s especially puzzling is how the French big has struggled to connect with the team’s other star, Anthony Edwards, similar to how there was a disconnect with him and Donovan Mitchell in Utah. It’s absolutely too early to call this a failed experiment but I would be comfortable moving Gobert away in my dynasty leagues in the event that the situation in Minnesota turned out to be a disaster which could force Rudy out of town.
