I have a mix of two hitters that are hot and have real production to provide managers as well as two starting pitchers that have good matchups on deck as well as real rest of season appeal.
P Patrick Sandoval – BOS – 15%
Sandoval is back from a near two-year injury absence and he has looked pretty good. In six starts (30.0 innings), he owns a 3.30 ERA, a 21.3% K% and an elevated WHIP of 1.70 thanks for a .389 BABIP, despite inducing a 30.1% hard-hit rate. He has a 10.2% SwStr% but that was closer to 12% prior to his last start as his change up is still inducing a nice 37.5% whiff rate and it has a higher stuff+ grade (up to 108 from 105) and the slider has a higher whiff rate on it than pre-surgery (up to 27% with a higher stuff+ grade as well up to 113). Up next he faces a Pirates offense that has a 94 wRC+ vs. southpaws since July 1, including a poor .130 ISO. He needs to be added ahead of that start and possibly held on to ROS.
1B Jared Young – 2% – NYM
