Welcome (back) to our Free Agency Rundown series for 2026 NBA free agency.
The last three days have been exceedingly quiet around the league, likely influenced by the 4th of July holiday. We are expecting more moves today with the moratorium officially ending. Look for those reported trades from the last 10 days to be folded into even larger transactions as teams try and maximize their space to continue wheeling and dealing. There are also going to be some signings that the insiders didn’t get to so it’s important to stay on your toes and follow along both here and in the blurb feed.
It’s an exciting time of year as all 30 teams are plotting their course for next season. Fans whose teams have been out of it for a long time are locked back in after the draft and every single squad will be making some moves to shake up the roster. It’s a fresh start for everyone in the league and a time when hope is renewed no matter where you finished last season.
Naturally, all that player movement is doubly exciting to fantasy basketball players, as each transaction creates fun new alignments while creating the potential for sleeper values all over the place.
It’s important to remember that no team is even close to being a finished product at this point. Moves get made that create depth chart imbalance, which requires more moves to be made. Things will continue to change and so will fantasy outlooks. Don’t expect the Blazers to enter the season with all those guards, for example — but if they do, get ready for some headaches. The rosters you see in the immediate aftermath of trades and signings are not necessarily what you’ll see on opening night.
The goal of this exercise is to give you running thoughts and live fantasy analysis of all the moves that get made. We’ll need to wait and see how rotations look and how coaches scheme around all their shiny new toys but you’ll be getting our first impressions of every transaction. Get excited — basketball is just around the corner again, already.

Today’s Free Agent News
Rui Hachimura agrees to two-year, $28 million deal with Clippers
Hachimura didn’t want to leave LA and while it won’t be quite as simple as the old days when he just had to walk down the hall, he’ll just be moving across town. A stint with the Lakers was a nice boost for Hachimura’s value and he did himself plenty of favors with solid postseason runs in which he provided consistent and vital 3-point presence. The Clippers are likely bringing him in to start at the four spot alongside Brandon Ingram, which should push Derrick Jones Jr. back to the bench, and we would expect an increase on the 8.8 shots per game Hachimura saw last season as an in-and-out starter with the Lakers. As long as he can continue to boost FG%, Hachimura has a chance at late-round value in standard leagues. The stat set isn’t changing at this point so a larger role will not be resulting in notable defensive contributions, but volume gains in points, rebounds and triples as a more prominent option should boost his stock.
Quinten Post signs three-year, $30 million offer sheet with Grizzlies
Post is staring up at Kristaps Porzingis, Draymond Green (probably) and Al Horford on the Warriors depth chart right now and is not clear of the fray in Steve Kerr’s ever-changing rotation. The Warriors have until 11:59 on Tuesday night to match and this is a brief detour on their offseason shopping spree. Post had some good moments last year, including actual fantasy value when he was given a chance to hold down a starting spot, and his blend of rim protection and shooting is a nice fit for the roster. The problem is that Porzingis and Horford also bring those same elements, and Post at $10 million annually may be a luxury spend for a Warriors team that is looking to land big fish for as long as Steph Curry is playing. Age is a factor but the Warriors are win-now and with Post short of securing a full-time rotation spot, they could decide to move on.
If Post does land in Memphis, he would be the team’s best frontcourt shooter. The Grizzlies are in position to give him minutes as they rebuild and Post would be a big part of the Santi Aldama replacement efforts, likely splitting time with Taylor Hendricks off the bench. Memphis isn’t exactly the wild west in terms of playing time with Zach Edey, Cam Boozer, Jerami Grant and Hendricks all in the mix for minutes across the four/five slots, but Post would likely get a much fairer shake. Fantasy managers should be rooting for a change here.
Kings waiving DeMar DeRozan’s $10 million guaranteed salary (of a possible $25.74 million) for the 2026-27 season, making him an unrestricted free agent
DeRozan has been able to “hang around” for fantasy over the past few seasons despite an obvious decline. In 2025-26, he was No. 98/76 (8-cat/9-cat) per game and No. 48/39 (8-cat/9-cat) by totals, averaging 18.4 points (.497 FG%, .868 FT% on 5.6 FTA), 0.6 triples, 2.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.2 turnovers, carrying a 22.4% usage across 31.2 MPG (77 games). DeRozan is expected to be pursued by contenders and playoff-caliber teams, meaning he could likely see a reduced role as a fifth starter or a sixth man, possibly “finally” erasing his consistent 12-team appeal, but that is not yet concretized. Ultimately, true fantasy takeaways will have to wait for the official word on his landing spot.
Other moves with less fantasy implications: Clippers agree to two-way contract with Nick Martinelli (55th pick); Koby Brea returns to Suns on two-way contract
Weekend Recap
It was a very, very,ย veryย quiet weekend as Friday brought two worthwhile transactions and then a flood of end-of-roster contracts over the remaining hours.
Deandre Ayton dealt to Wizards for Jaden Hardy and picks: Deandre Ayton’s value is close to the gutter but we might be starting to wrap around to the point where he’s being underrated a little bit. He can give you a solid 20 minutes but any more than that seems to test his engagement levels, and the Wizards should be happy with Ayton as a backup. Whether Ayton is is another question entirely. Alex Sarr and Anthony Davis (theoretically) will block him out of 12-team value but Ayton could get on the radar again with injuries/trades.
Neemias Queta to re-sign with Celtics on four-year, $56 million deal: Queta has had quite the climb up from his series of two-way contracts. The Celtics added Mitchell Robinson in free agency as well but given his health concerns, we would expect Queta to remain the starting lineup and hold at least timeshare minutes, though he could end up drawing the short straw if Robinson’s body holds up. Queta did slip to the edge of the 12-team picture late last year when he was sharing the court with Nikola Vucevic but his stat set is dependable and the role should be large enough to support late-round value.
Other moves with less fantasy implications: Andre Drummond agrees to one-year deal with Knicks; Jordan Miller to re-sign with Clippers for three years, $15.3 million; Javonte Green agrees to re-sign with Pistons for one year, $3.95 million; Josh Okogie agrees to two-year, $12 million deal with Jazz; Trey Lyles returns from Real Madrid for one-year deal with Wolves; Sixers sign Rayan Rupert to two-way contract; Sixers sign Caleb Love to two-way contract; Thunder sign Brooks Barnhizer, Josh Dix and Otega Oweh to two-way contracts; Rockets trade Dorian Finney-Smith to Hornets;Chris Maรฑon back to Lakers on a two-way; Kam Jones agrees to two-way contract with Bucks; Trey Alexander agrees to two-way deal with Jazz; Chris Manon agrees to two-way deal with Lakers; Jaden Bradley agrees to two-way deal with Raptors
