February 23, 2026, 10:00 amOops, your perfect draft plan went awry. It’s late in your draft and your expectations of a well-balanced team have withered into a team that needs power.
Now.
So, who can you draft late to make up for your limp lineup? And is there anyone out there who can give you that power boost without completely tanking your team’s batting average?
The following names are targets for ‘standard’ 12-team, one-catcher leagues (think 20th round or later in Yahoo). I also included some later ADP targets for those of you playing in deeper leagues. The ADPs shown below are from NFC’s Draft Champion drafts as of February 10. All referenced projections are from Ariel Cohen’s ATC projections.
Kerry Carpenter (225 ADP)
Carpenter has the earliest ADP on this list for good reason. He’s the only player in this range who is projected for nearly 95 combined HRs and RBI yet is also expected to hit higher than .250. He bashed a career high 26 homers last year with 62 RBI despite missing one month with a hamstring injury.
He also had a career high hard-hit rate and both his slugging percentage and expected slugging percentage were nearly identical to his career norms. He has had some trouble staying healthy during his brief career and he doesn’t hit lefties but has proven to be a late round power boost despite those limitations.
Kyle Manzardo (236 ADP)
If you need production similar to Carpenter’s but not in the outfield (e.g., first base or corner infield), I give you Kyle Manzardo.
Last season was his first as a healthy, full-time starter and he seized the opportunity by cranking out 27 homers with 70 RBI. His 2026 projections call for a nearly identical year (26 homers, 74 RBI).
One catch to Manzardo is that he hit just .234 in both of his years on the Guardians. His projection calls for slight improvement (.238) but maybe he can do better than that after improving his walk, strikeout and contact rates last year.
