    Injury News

    1. Braves SP Spencer Strider suffered a right hamstring strain and was placed 15 day IL, retroactive to April 18th. After making one start after recovering from the internal brace procedure he made last year, Strider finds himself back on the IL for an extended period of time. The Braves will use the initial IL time frame to determine just how long Spencer will need to recover. Continue to IL and hold.
    2. Luke Keaschall, Twins 2B, was hit by a pitch on Friday and suffered a right forearm fracture and was placed on the 10 day IL on Saturday. He’s looking at a several week stay on the IL, which is a blow both to Twins fans and fantasy managers, as Keaschall was off to a great debut, as he was 7-for-19 with three doubles, 5:2 BB:K and five stolen bases. IL and hold.
    3. The Guardians have officially placed OF Lane Thomas on the 10 day IL with a  right wrist bone bruise, retroactive to April 20th. He initially suffered the bruise early in April and had been in and out of the lineup, but since he isn’t fully recovered, the Guardians made the decision to IL him. He will be eligible to return in just a few days, but that will be dependent on if he is fully recovered or not. IL stash and monitor the situation.
    4. The Texas Rangers have placed SS Corey Seager on the 10 day IL on Wednesday with a right hamstring strain. The Rangers are optimistic it will be a short IL stay due to the injury being relatively mild, so daily league managers should expect him back in the lineup by this weekend. Weekly leaguers bench and hold for next week.
    5. The Rangers also placed SP Kumar Rocker on the 15 day IL with a right shoulder impingement on Friday. The expectation is that he will miss more than just the two week IL time frame, so shallow league managers can probably drop him (unless you have multiple IL spots) and deep league managers can hold if they have the IL space, but cut where they don’t.
    6. After missing more than a week, the Twins finally placed super-utility man Willi Castro on the 10 day IL with a right oblique strain, retroactive to Apr 21st. He was diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain and was able to hit pain free from the right side, but not the left-handed side. It sounds like he will be activated when he is eligible on May 1st, so daily leaguers can keep him off the IL, but weekly leaguers may want to place him on the IL until next week.
    7. Orioles OF Tyler O’neill has been suffering from neck inflammation for the past couple of weeks, so they finally decided to place him on the 10 day IL retroactive to Apr 24th, so he can get some much needed rest and recovery. He will be eligible to return May 4th and, so long as the neck is better, shouldn’t be expected to miss more time than the minimum. Stash and hold in all 14 team and deeper leagues. In 12 team and smaller it’s probably okay to cut him, due to the veritable depth of available talent.
    8. The Mariners had to place another ace on the injured list last week, this time placing SP Logan Gilbert on the 15 day IL with a right elbow flexor strain. It was revealed to be a Grade 1 flexor strain, which is good news, but he won’t throw for at least two weeks before he will be re-evaluated and determine the next steps in his recovery. We are looking at a four to six week timeline, probably at a minimum, so all you can do is stash him on your IL and hold. The Mariners called up their #10 prospect Logan Evans on Sunday (read more below), to replace him in the rotation, so Gilbert managers may want to consider adding him in the meantime.
