I got a quick three-pack of names for managers to consider adding to their fantasy rosters!
Make sure you check out yesterday’s Working the Waiver Wire with critical adds created by the trade deadline!
Clay Holmes – SP – CHC – 37%
Holmes was dealt to the best defensive squad (by a country mile per Defensive Runs Saves and Fielding Run Value and pretty much every defensive metric that exists.
Historically, Holmes has been a heavy ground ball pitcher (career 62.0% ground ball rate, 56% this year prior to the injury) as he also misses barrels with a 5.3% barrel rate this year (4.9% career).
So the elite Cubs defense is going to be critical in helping him control the damage and return elite ratios.
This year he is retuning a 30% whiff rate on his sweeper and changeup as he has added a curveball to replace a tight slider that was getting hit particularly hard. This gives him a chance to provide at least some strikeouts to go with what should be great ratios and some wins pitching for the contending Cubs.
Cole Carrigg – COL – OF – 27%
