Key players coming back for Portland: Robert Williams III (hamstring) is cleared to play on Thursday and Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder) was upgraded to questionable, which most likely means the rotation is about to change for players like Dalano Banton, Jabari Walker, Kris Murray, Rayan Rupert and maybe Donovan Clingan. While both Williams III and Sharpe will have time limits to make sure their returns are as smooth as possible while gaining rhythm, they will probably see big minutes from the get-go as key pieces of the Blazers’ future. Clingan is as well though and Williams didn’t suit up on Monday when he was first available, so we’ll see if that continues.ย
The absence of Jeremy Sochan:ย Without a doubt, the 21-year-old forward was playing like San Antonio’s player revelation of the season, but a left thumb fracture will stop his momentum for a decent time and the Spurs will have to hand his minutes to part of their bench cast until Devin Vassell (foot) keeps working on coming back. Keldon Johnson, Harrison Barnes and specially Julian Champagnie (who had 21 points and five rebounds in 38 minutes against the Rockets on Monday) are the main targets for stream at this time.
Stream of the Game
Toumani Camara has been the easiest stream since he gets the most minutes as the Blazers main frontcourt alternative, I wouldn’t mess with any other Portland members for the time being until their rotation settles in. For San Antonio, Keldon Johnson and Julian Champagnie are the clear choice.
Alternatives: Dalano Banton (points, steals), Stephon Castle (points, assists, steals), Harrison Barnes (points, rebounds),ย Zach Collins (points, rebounds, assists).
