What to do with a fully healthy Raptors roster: All Raptors players have been available for the first time in the season in the month of January, which leaves the question of ”Who should I pay attention to moving forward?”. Tough question if you’re looking for streamers, as Toronto’s rotations are about to be as inconsistent as they can be. If Gradey Dick continues to fall in roster percentage he could become a solid option, although if it happens is for wrong reasons about his production.
Ochai Agbaji and Ja’Kobe Walter have been the biggest names off the bench for the Raptors but as well, their production is far from a guarantee. Including the fact that Agbaji left Wednesday’s game against the Knicks with a lower back contusion, which puts his status for Thursday’s game in jeopardy.
Jamal Shead seems to have an edge on the backup point guard spot at the moment, with Kelly Olynyk acting as the main big man in the second unit. Chris Boucher and Davion Mitchell have failed to get minutes in the past matches, with Bruce Brown and Jonathan Mogbo receiving low amounts of minutes.
Cavs bench options: With Sam Merrill (ankle) being the only rotational piece out for Cleveland at the moment, three names have risen as the main players to have some productions in Kenny Atkinson’s squad. Those being Max Strus, Dean Wade and Georges Niang, all with similarities tied to their fantasy game: three-point scorers who can provide rebounds, steals or assists at any given time, but with low consistency.
Max Strus is probably the most solid choice as he could regain his spot as a starter. Wade can contribute more on the rebounds and defensive side, while Niang is more of real shooter. Ty Jerome remains a good option as well if you’re looking for assists and steals, as his scoring game has taken a backseat.
Stream of the Game
Max Strus wins this battle due to his ability to get more minutes than the rest of his peers.
Alternatives:Â Dean Wade (3s, rebounds, stocks), Georges Niang (points, 3s, steals), Jamal Shead, Ty Jerome (assists, steals), Ja’Kobe Walter (points, 3s).
