Key Storylines

Devin Vassell returns: Vassell has not played competitive basketball since the stress reaction in his foot ended his previous season. Don’t expect much early on with a minutes restriction and rust likely to diminish his production. The next week or two could be a chance to buy low if you don’t mind the injury concerns, and if you have him, be patient.

The Jazz look bad: Lauri Markkanen being absent later in the season could become a concern if they may go full tank mode this year. Typically they start seasons well before falling off, but a very young rotation relying on first- and second-year players might just have them competing for Cooper Flagg. Try to get fair value on your Jazz assets in the coming months if you can, but you have time so don’t panic or make yourself look desperate.

Stephon Castle (points, assists, steals) or Julian Champagnie (general stats) are the choices as Vassell shouldn’t be a full go yet.
