Key Storylines

Tre Mann and the 6MOY: After being buried in the talent pit of OKC, Mann has emerged as one of the best bench scorers in the league, making him an early favourite for the 6MOY award. Between LaMelo and him, the Hornets backcourt isn’t being efficient from the field, but it’s enough to get them to .500. Facing the Celtics on a back-to-back is a rough schedule, so it will be interesting to see how the young Hornets play.

Is Jrue on Holiday: Jrue is a savy veteran that does everything his team needs. But this doesn’t always translate to fantasy value, and this is what’s happening to the PG this season. Are the defensive stats and assists regression age-related or just a small sample size? We’ll have to wait to find out. On another note, Al Horford didn’t play on the first half of the back-to-back, but should be good to go today. With him and Payton Pritchard, the Celtics boast two of the league’s most coveted streamers in the league.

Al Horford is an all-around source of stats that doesn’t hurt you anywhere. Bonus if you’re targeting boards and the occasional block.

Key Storylines

Sometimes the son of a superstar is good: Scotty Pippen Jr. has carved a role as one of the best bench PGs in the league and his assists and steals should be welcome in your roster! Pippen, Santi Aldama, Jake LaRavia are all stepping up for a deep (and lingering with injuries) Memphis roster, meaning they are great streaming options if available. Except for LaRavia, the availability could be a longshot.

Embiid and Paul George’s debut: Not today! But it seems that everyday we’re closer to an Embiid and PG13 debut. Until then, the Sixers should continue to depend on Tyrese Maxey and their role-players. If all stays the same, this doesn’t appear to be enough to take them out of the bottom of the East. They need their star duo back and healthy.

Stream of the Game

Caleb Martin provides points, 3s and boards with guaranteed minutes while Embiid and Paul George are out. Pippen Jr. and Aldama should be seen as better options, but they could already be rostered. Jaylen Wells without Marcus Smart and Desmind Bane is a fun points and 3s streamer, so check the injury report!

Alternatives: Kyle Lowry (assists and steals), LaRavia (3s and rebounds), Jaylen Wells (points and 3s with Smart and Bane are out), Jay Huff (rebounds, blocks, 3s, a wholesome feeling and a ton of G-League awards)
