MLK Day is an NBA fan’s dream as we basically have about 12 hours of continuous basketball. With 11 games on, there’s sure to be a lot of intriguing pickups up as well and that’s why we’re here after all, so let’s get right into it.

Dillon Brooks, G/F, Rockets

Tonight: 31 minutes, 18 points (7-of-9 FG, 2-of-3 3PT, 2-of-4 FT), six rebounds, two steals

I’m not recommending Brooks as a serious pickup, but more so as a bit of a schedule stream when he is hot. He has shown better shooting touch this season and can net you a couple of 3-pointers with a steal on most occasions. Just beware of some potential FG% tanking for your teams if he has an off night.

Cam Whitmore, F, Rockets

Tonight: 23 minutes, 14 points (6-of-12 FG, 2-of-5 3PT), six rebounds, one assist, one steal

Whitmore deserves a chin scratch and eyebrow raise. That is to say, he is doing some things to catch your attention and make you think. I don’t believe he is a must-roster 12-team player but in 20-plus minutes it seems he can get you a couple of 3-pointers, some solid rebounds and a defensive stat or two with good per-minute scoring to boot. He should at least be on streaming radars. Since he was only 7% rostered at the time of writing, he is also a deep-league pickup.
