Key Storylines

Max Christie’s role is key: With Anthony Davis now officially questionable to make his debut on Thursday if his abdominal injury allows him, the Mavericks are closer and closer to seeing their new era form. They still won’t have a full starting lineup yet, as P.J. Washington (personal) is out for vs. Boston, same for the newly acquired Caleb Martin, and Dereck Lively II (ankle) who will be out until March at the earliest.

Daniel Gafford escaped an injury after leaving the match against the 76ers with a left shoulder hit, and he’s off the injury report. The name you want to follow in Dallas is the other piece the Mavs got for Luka Doncic: Max Christie. In his debut, he amassed 15 points, nine boards, four triples, three assists and a steal in 32 minutes, and as he was being a key piece on the Los Angeles Lakers, there’s nothing stopping him from causing an impact from the bench on Dallas. Keep an eye on him.

Heating up again: The Celtics won against the Cleveland Cavaliers yet again this season and link four wins in a row right now, Dallas shouldn’t be that much of an issue for them in the current state they are, but that’s the beauty of basketball. Jrue Holiday is the only blemish on their injury report, with a questionable tag due to a right shoulder impingement.

Boston was active in the approach to the trade deadline, dealing Jaden Springer to the Rockets for draft capital. As this was only a move for economic reasons, and with the C’s having a very disappointing streamer scene at the moment, not much is left to say unless something changes.
