Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the Heat and Danilo Gallinari’s representatives were working on a contract extension overnight to help finalize the three-team trade with the Thunder and the Grizzlies.
The Heat are trying to preserve their salary cap for 2021 and even though they gave Andre Iguodala a two-year, $30M extension, the second year of the deal includes a team option. Not many specifics have leaked so far but it looks likely that Gallo will be heading to Miami. His value should remain the same as the Heat are lacking a stretch power forward and will probably insert him in their starting lineup immediately if the trade goes through.
