Enes KanterC, Boston CelticsJared Weiss of The Athletic is reporting that Enes Kanter is likely to opt-out of his contract for next season and test the market.
Kanter played 58 games for the Celtics in the regular season and averaged 8.1 points and 7.4 rebounds across 16.9 minutes, his lowest minutes per game since his second year in the league. He has a player option for next season at around $5 million, but he’s happy in Boston and may even be willing to take on a more diminished role in order to stay. The Turkish center has played nine seasons in the NBA on five different teams and it’s likely that he isn’t returning to a starting role anytime soon.
