Unfortunately, the Vikings are playing without their QB Kirk Cousins, but nevertheless, these division games are always hard-fought and fun to watch. With the Lions already having a stranglehold on the division, they look to improve their seeding heading into the playoffs with the number one seed still in sight. The Vikings, on the other hand, are looking to maintain the final playoff spot in the NFC.
Main Storylines to Watch
These are not your fathers, or even your grandfathers, Lions: This team is so fun. That’s the storyline here. They had the hype heading into the season and they have delivered. They nailed the draft, finding two upper-echelon offensive weapons. They’ve taken a QB in Goff who was left for dead by Sean McVay and the Rams and really helped him come into his own. As someone who has never really seen the Lions be very good, I must say, that the NFL is more fun with Detroit rolling. The best part, we get to start almost everyone in fantasy with confidence.
The Vikings QB woes: We went from Kirk Cousins having a really good season, to Dobbs one-hit wonder in Minnesota, to what is now the Nick Mullens show. Rookie Jaren Hall even got some run before getting hurt in his lone start. The rookie will be QB2 with Mullens once again starting. Dobbs has taken a back seat to both, entering Sunday as QB3. The Detroit defense should allow some opportunity for success. The question is, does Mullens take advantage of this?
