Fantasy Football Draft Guide 2026: WR Rankings

By Anthony Quaranta Published August 4, 2026 2 min read

Receiver continues to reign as the premier position in fantasy football. Its great to have player takes, and by all means get your guy. However, building the best team possible during the draft becomes a little bit easier if you understand the positional pockets, which can help you from getting boxed out at any one position. Tier based rankings help me keep a balanced, yet effective roster at the forefront of my mind. It allows me to see when I need to take a specific position, or where I can maybe wait another round and get comparable value. The numbering is regarding where each player ranks within a specific tier to help keep things organized, while the tier names are meant to help guide how far down the board you are a la your typical rankings list. You’ll notice that the tiers slowly get bigger and bigger as we move down the board, and that’s because there’s a wider range of outcomes for players ranked a bit lower. Part of rankings are history based, and the other part is projection based. I try to blend both together, and you’ll see the wide receiver tiers I’ll be using this draft season as a result. Let the debates begin!

Tier 1: WR1-2

  1. Ja’Marr Chase, CIN
  2. Puka Nacua, LAR

These two are nearly inseparable in rankings. And its easy to see why. They are probably the two most talented receivers in the league, on elite offenses, and command 32% and 30% of their teams targets respectively. The two superstars both have WR1 overall finishes under their belt, and it’s really splitting hairs. The difference for me is the passing volume. The Rams had a 55/45 pass/run split last season, while the Bengals passed the ball on 64% of their snaps.

Tier 2: WR3
  1. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET
