Yesterday, we received the suspension rulings for Isaiah Stewart (seven games), Jalen Duren (two games), Miles Bridges (four games), and Moussa Diabatรฉ (four games). These were in line with expectations, and the game plan remains the same: roll with Paul Reed in the short term and add Ryan Kalkbrenner to see if he is healthy enough after the break to return to his early-season form and reclaim the role as the Hornetsโ main center, which would make him a valuable pickup in fantasy basketball leagues.
Alexandre Sarr is out for about two weeks with a right hamstring strain. The Wizards have every reason to lose games, so expect them to be extra cautious with Sarr. Tristan Vukcevic was already a pickup regardless of Sarrโs injury, and this only strengthens the case, heโs a โrun, donโt walkโ add everywhere. The length of Sarrโs absence could determine the level of Vukcevicโs production, but he profiles as a valuable fantasy player on these tanking Wizards.
Tonight, we have the final slate before the All-Star break. In this cheat sheet, weโll break down the top available adds, streamers, and key storylines to monitor in tonightโs action. Letโs dive in.
Top Pickups
This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.
Tristan Vukcevic (2%)
He has demonstrated in the past the ability to be an effective fantasy basketball contributor. Last season, over the final month, he ranked 98th in 8-cat totals across 14 games while playing under 22 minutes per game.
I expect him to hover around that 22-minute mark even when Alex Sarr is healthy. They just traded for Anthony Davis, and playing alongside another big would give Sarr valuable reps, so there should be opportunities to incorporate lineups featuring both Sarr and Vukcevic.
With Sarr currently sidelined, I donโt expect Vukcevic to consistently play 30-plus minutes per game, as the team will likely experiment with different lineups. However, I do expect him to log mid-to-high 20s in minutes and emerge as a must-roster player.
Devin Carter (2%)
