Lamar Jackson – Ravens – Back
Jackson suffered a severe back contusion late in the first half of the Ravens’ loss to the Patriots on Sunday night and did not return to the game. He is currently listed as day to day and is very much a situation to monitor on a short week. Jackson has sat out the Ravens’ first practice of every week for multiple weeks running so if he misses their first one this week it’s nothing to be alarmed about. If he can’t go on Saturday, Tyler Huntley would take over as the starter and it would be wise to start your backup quarterback if you have one, or use the waiver wire to stream one. If Jackson is able to go, he is still startable against a Packers’ defense that is still adjusting to life without Micah Parsons.
Gardner Minshew – Chiefs – leg
Minshew suffered a non-displaced tibial fracture in his leg and was placed on season ending injured reserve. The Chiefs will turn to veteran Shane Buchele on Thursday night now and not only will he be a must sit against a tough Denver defense, it would be wise to sit other Chiefs skill players as well. The waiver wire will be your best bet to find a quarterback.
JJ McCarthy – Vikings – Hand
McCarthy suffered a hand injury in the Vikings’ win over the Lions. While there is no specificity of the injury, this is a short week for the Vikings as they play Thursday and it has been reported he is unlikely to play. Max Brosmer will again take over as the starter and will also be a must sit as he has not produced much in limited action. Again, the waiver wire will be your best bet here for a quarterback.
Jordan Love – Packers – Head, Malik Willis – Packers – Shoulder
Love left Saturday’s loss to the Bears with a head injury and did not return and he is now in the league’s concussion protocol. Willis suffered a shoulder injury in the same game against the Bears and is pretty sore following the game per head coach Matt LaFleur. The team is on a normal week of rest as they played Saturday and are playing again this coming one so both will be situations to monitor. If Love can return to action he is start worthy against a Ravens defense that just hasn’t been what it was the last couple of seasons. Willis could be a solid stream play if he has to start as well after putting up a very respectable stat line on Saturday. If neither can go, the only Packer that would be start worthy is Josh Jacobs.
Quinshon Judkins – Browns – Leg, Dylan Sampson – Browns – Hand/Calf
Judkins suffered a fractured fibula and a dislocated right ankle, he will miss the remainder of the season. Sampson is dealing with hand and calf injuries but is “improving by the day” per head coach Kevin Stefanski. Sampson would assume top back duties if he is able to play and he has stream appeal. While he hasn’t run the ball well, he’s been effective as a pass catcher, going for at least 55 receiving yards in two of the last three games. If neither can go, Trayveon Williams will assume the lead back duties and he was efficient in action on Sunday, going for 3 carries for 17 yards while catching four passes for 38 yards to make for a solid FLEX option if needed.
Treyveon Henderson – Patriots – Head
Henderson suffered a head injury in Sunday’s win over the Ravens and did not return, he is now in the league’s concussion protocol. If he is unable to go Rhamondre Stevenson would assume top back duties again and he will be a must start against the Jets and hold low end RB1 value. If Henderson can go, both are still startable and will hold RB2 value as they should both be able to have big games against a Jets defense not stopping much at the moment.
Amon-Ra St. Brown – Lions – Knee
St. Brown is dealing with a non disclosed knee ailment. He was listed as a non participant in practice on Monday casting some doubt on his status for Thursday’s game with the Vikings. If he is unable to go, Jameson Williams will elevate to top wide receiver duties and it would be fair to expect an uptick in usage for rookie Isaac TeSlaa who has been contributing as of late with at least nine fantasy points in three of his last four games while playing at least 41% of Detroit’s offensive snaps in five straight games. He could be used as a stream play but if St. Brown can go that would only be in desperation.
George Kittle – 49ers – Ankle
Kittle suffered an ankle injury in the 49ers’ win over the Colts on Monday night. He says that he feels he avoided the dreaded high ankle sprain but his status for Sunday night’s game with the Bears is in question. If he can’t go, Jake Tonges would take over starting tight end duties just like he did when Kittle missed time earlier this season. Tonges’ target share fluctuated in those six weeks receiving as little as three and as many as 11. He is a worthy stream play if needed.
