Weekend Streamers for September 26th to September 28th

  • If you are reading our last streamers article of the season for any of your own fantasy teams, congratulations to get to this point! We’ve got three pitching streamers across Friday and Saturday, and a hitting stream for the weekend as well, with one significant disclaimer.

With the season ending, teams are liable to make significant last minute changes to their pitching or lineup plans, hence why only a handful of starters on Saturday and Sunday have been announced. Any of these streamers are subject to change, and likewise, new opportunities may arise when the playoff picture becomes more clear this weekend, so stay tuned to at @ethosfantasybb on X and Bluesky, and we’ll keep you updated through social media and our Fantasy MLB Today podcast.

    Friday

Cade Cavalli – SP – WAS vs CHW – 13% rostered (Yahoo)

Regardless of the results, the fact that Cavalli has the chance to finish the year healthy makes his 2025 season a huge success, after three straight years of injury plagued purgatory. He’s still got the great velocity that made him a highly touted prospect as a minor leaguer, and now at 27 years old, he’s put together nine solid starts to the tune of a 4.23 ERA, averaging over 97 mph on his fastball. His final appearance of the season will be against the lowly White Sox, who still hold some of the worst offensive numbers in the league against both righties and lefties. Cavalli isn’t striking out hitters prolifically, but he’s been dominant at home (2.11 ERA), and he’s found a way to succeed by limiting walks and using his velocity and movement to stay off barrels, which should make this a pretty safe start in 12 team leagues.

    Brandon Sproat – SP – NYM @ MIA – 25% rostered (Yahoo)

Despite the previously mentioned disclaimer, it would be shocking not to see Brandon Sproat get the start on Friday under any circumstances, given the precarious situation of the Mets season, and the fact that they’ve moved their rotation around to pitch him on Friday. Sproat has been their second best pitcher since his promotion, behind fellow rookie Nolan McLean, and turned in his third impressive showing in three starts against the Rangers despite some abominable defense played behind him. That defense, which constituted multiple botched ground balls and some basic mistakes in the outfield, will have to be better for a pitcher who induces soft contact at such an elite rate (2.5% barrel rate), especially against a club that puts the ball in play like the Marlins. Miami doesn’t do a ton of damage as an offense, but could still be playing for a spot in the postseason come Friday, making this a solid stream in 10 team leagues, albeit with a bit more risk than usual.
