In order of roster% –
12-TEAM LEAGUES (FANTRAX ROSTER%, Yahoo %)
OF Cole Carrigg – COL – 67%, 22% – We are back to needing a replacement for Juan Soto and this time, it will be for longer than his last IL stay that was just two weeks. Jon Heyman of the New York Post said it could be four-to-six weeks. Carrigg is definitely someone to add as a replacement. In 147 plate appearances he has four homers, three steals and a .288/.363/.504 slash. His excellent K and BB numbers has translated to the majors. He has a great ability to to lift and pull the ball with a well above average 25.8% pull air%. Add on his 73.8 MPH bat speed and we have a potential power speed dude that bats in Coors. BID – 3-8%
P Shane Drohan – MIL – 66%, 39% – Drohan has been rock solid lately, outside of his last outing. Even including that start he still owns a 3.67 ERA (3.46 xERA, 2.79 FIP), 24.3% K%, 6.3% BB% and 1.22 WHIP over his last six starts. He is missing bats with a solid 11.6% SwStr% and is inducing weak contact with an 8.2% barrel rate and 39.8% hard-hit rate allowed. This week he faces the Giants in pitcher friendly San Francisco. BID – 2-5%
OF Dominic Canzone – SEA – 63%, 12% – I banged on the Canzone drum long enough early in the year and now I need to point out that too many people are dropping him as he starts off July ice cold. Canzone hasn’t seen his K% sky rocket at all and his bat speed is just fine. He has hit 15 homers in 284 plate appearances with a .253 average, .352 wOBA (.354 xwOBA) and 133 wRC+. If he was dropped, scoop him up. BID – 3-6%
P Grant Holmes – ATL – 63%, 25% – Holmes has been very ‘mid’ this year and is basically just a streamer level arm and, well, it just so happens he gets the Mets this week who now find themselves without Juan Soto, again. In four July starts, he has a 3.15 eRA (3.41 FIP) while allowing a 7.5% barrel rate and 37.3% hard-hit rate. BID – 1-2%
3B Kyle Karros – COL – 60%, 19% – I had him on this piece a few weeks ago and seeing how as he is still widely available and he is still producing, I will recommend him, again. In July, he has four homers in 81 PA with 13 runs, 12 RBI and a slash of .294/.407/.544. He has a .360 xwOBA and a 149 wRC+. He is just as good at home (107 wRC+) as he is away from Coors (111 wRC+). BID – 2-5%
C Yainer Diaz – HOU – 56%, 41% – He has been getting very unlucky in July, though the homers have been there. He has three homers in his last 49 plate appearances in July but a .167 BABIP is dragging him down as he owns a .272 xBA, .483 xSLG and .336 xwOBA. If you need to replace Shea Langeliers, Diaz could be a nice, under the radar cheap option. BID – 2-5%
