Weather Impacts on Your Fantasy Players (Friday, July 25 to Thursday, July 31)

  • Weather will impact hitters in both good and bad ways over the next seven days. The good news is that a hot and extremely humid airmass will impact most stadiums this weekend and at least the first part of next week. That’s not great for fans who attend the games but we love those conditions for our fantasy hitters. The “bad” news is not surprising as chilly weather on the West Coast gives us a few series to avoid.

There’s good and bad news on the stadium front, too. Sadly for hitters, there are no games at Coors Field or Sutter Health Park (Sacramento) for the next seven days. However, Great American Ball Park is in use all seven days and it will be hot and humid in Cincinnati, so expect outstanding hitting conditions.

    TARGETS:

    This Weekend’s Best Hitting Environments

    • Colorado at Baltimore (Friday-Sunday; temperatures almost 95 degrees on Friday then near 90 Saturday and Sunday with very high humidity all series but watch out for a chance of thunderstorms especially Sunday)
    • San Diego at St. Louis (Friday-Sunday; temps near 90 degrees with very high humidity and only a low chance of thunderstorms)
    • Cleveland at Kansas City (Friday-Sunday; 85-90 degrees with extreme humidity for the entire series)
    • Tampa Bay at Cincinnati (Friday-Sunday; 85-90 degrees and extremely humid but caution for Sunday’s well above-average chance of thunderstorms)

    Targets for Early Next Week:

    • Toronto at Baltimore (Monday-Wednesday; great combination of heat (90-95 degrees) and high humidity for all four games…note that there’s a double header Tuesday)
    • LA Dodgers at Cincinnati (Monday-Wednesday; 85-90 degrees with very high humidity each day)
    • Atlanta at Kansas City (Monday-Wednesday; 88-92 degrees with high humidity)

Those are the best games to target. Now let’s see which ones to avoid during the next seven days:
