With a .600 OPS and nine home runs at the All-Star break, Luis Robert Jr. hasn’t enjoyed the 2025 season that he or the White Sox would’ve wanted, especially pertaining to his trade value this July. It’s inevitable that he’ll be moved to a contender at the deadline, and it really should’ve happened either last summer or in this past off-season, but the White Sox held out hope that they could rediscover the MVP level form of Robert Jr. from earlier in his career, and trade him at that valuation.
Instead, the team won’t only be forced to trade him for a far lower return prospect wise, but they’ll have to eat significant money in his team option years if they are to capitalize on any contractual value, as the $20 million a season price on those team options is no longer team friendly.
Any suitor for Robert Jr. will seek to play to his strengths, elevate his weaknesses, and tap into the elite potential that we saw flashes of earlier in his White Sox career. He still has elite speed and power, and he’s actually made some strides in his perennially problematic chase rate, so there is potential there, especially for fantasy purposes. Today, I’ll rank the top five trade destinations for Robert Jr.’s fantasy value, and what could change with each organization.
