Key Storylines

Zach LaVine’s absence: The main star for the Bulls is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s matchup due to the upcoming birth of his third child, and this leaves the door open for increased production for potential streamers: Lonzo Ball, Jalen Smith, Patrick Williams and Matas Buzelis. Talen Horton-Tucker (leg) is listed as questionable and could become an option for deeper leagues if he suits up. In the meantime, Patrick Williams and Matas Buzelis have been on a positive trend the last three games and could be the best option for you if you target ceiling over floor.

Back on track: Detroit caught a break when defeating the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night, as they dropped the three games prior to that win. While their pursuit for a playoff spot is still on, streamers have been hard to get right on this new competitive rotation: Aside from Malik Beasley who’s almost out of streaming range at this point, nobody is a clear hit whenever you want to get some production on the Pistons.

Ausar Thompson’s inconsistency continues, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Isaiah Stewart have limited roles, the latter coming back from his suspension on this same Sunday game, and Ron Holland II is just not getting enough minutes to make a difference.

Chicago has the edge here, with my favorite of the bunch being Patrick Williams, as he’s on a roll lately. I’m counting Malik Beasley as unavailable in your league, but he’d be the superior choice if he was in your waiver wire.

Alternatives: Matas Buzelis (points, 3s, blocks), Lonzo Ball (3s, assists, steals), Jalen Smith (points, rebounds), Ausar Thompson (rebounds, steals, blocks), Tim Hardaway Jr. (points, 3s), Isaiah Stewart (rebounds, blocks).

Note: Jalen Smith was just downgraded to questionable with an illness.
