• Welcome to Friday Night Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 12/6! We have a rare smaller Friday slate with only seven games on, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any pickup-worthy players to consider.

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Ayo Dosunmu, SG/SF, CHI (36% rostered)

    Tonight: 32 minutes, 15 points ( 6-of-8 FG, 0-of-0 FT), 3 triples, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks

Analysis: Fresh off his first career triple-double, Ayo was back in the starting lineup and delivered another solid line with some quality minutes. The 32 minutes were especially encouraging to see since Coby White and Lonzo Ball were back in the rotation after missing yesterday’s game with injuries. It’s important to note that while Patrick Williams is still out, the Bulls opted to go with a smaller lineup that featured Ayo more. When they are back healthy, Ayo will most likely head back to a bench/smaller role but he seems like a good option to roll with while they are banged up.

Kelly Oubre, SG/SF, PHI (29% rostered)

    Tonight: 35 minutes, 13 points ( 5-of-10 FG, 2-of-4 FT), 1 triple, 10 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks

Analysis: Oubre has seemed to have found a nice role with the 76ers, logging 29+ minutes in 6 straight games. They have also been without star center Joel Embiid and Paul George has been in and out of the lineup, but it’s nice to see him still being featured regardless of the changing lineups. The free throws are really his only downfall, but as long as he’s getting minutes he’ll be a good source of points, rebounds and steals – he’s snagged a steal in 10 straight games so far.

Guerschon Yabusele, PF/C, PHI  (20% rostered)

    Tonight: 33 minutes, 16 points ( 5-of-8 FG, 5-of-9 FT), 1 triples, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks

Analysis: Another beneficiary from the Joel Embiid injury saga, but given the length and drama around his ongoing injury maintenance it might be wise to turn our attention to Yabusele. If you can live with his percentages, he’ll be a good source of points and rebounds. His production is more directly tied to the status of Embiid, so as long as he’s out then Yabusele is an interesting play.

    De’Andre Hunter, SF/PF, ATL  (37% rostered)

    Tonight: 34 minutes, 26 points (9-of-15 FG, 3-of-4 FT), 5 triples, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks

Analysis: Hunter has been on quite a hot stretch recently, and it’s only a matter of time before his rostered percent starts to increase with outings like this. He’s scored 20+ points in 5 of his last 6 games and is averaging almost 30 minutes over his last 7 days. I imagine his rostered percent is tied to the depth of the Hawks team, but he keeps getting minutes and keeps making the most out of them so I’m thinking this might be the real deal. Sure, the OT helped a bit but still a player with his numbers won’t belong on the wire much longer.

Julian Champagnie, SF/PF, SAS  (26% rostered)

    Tonight: 35 minutes, 30 points (8-of-16 FG, 8-of-8 FT), 6 triples, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 0 blocks

Analysis: Coming off the heels of a back-to-back set, the Spurs were a little short-handed without Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell. Champagnie was ready to seize the opportunity and finished with a team-high 30 points, which is also a season high. Champagnie has proven to still be productive even on a healthy Spurs team, so there’s not a ton of risk in riding with the 2nd year pro for a little bit especially while they are missing star Wembanyama.

TJ McConnell, PG, IND  (17% rostered)

    Tonight: 23 minutes, 17 points (8-of-14 FG, 0-of-1 FT), 1 triple, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks

Analysis: Despite being in a reserve role, McConnell still finds ways of putting up respectable stat lines. TJ has put up double-digit scoring efforts in 9 of his last 11 games, and is averaging close to 4 assists and 1 steal during that time. Andrew Nembhard was back in the starting lineup after recovering from injury, so it was nice seeing him not lose drastic minutes. If you are in need of some assists and steals without worrying about percentages, TJ could be your guy.
