This article has sought weather advantages for your fantasy hitters all summer and we’re going to keep it going for these final three weeks of MLB’s season. The summer heat-induced best hitting conditions of the year are fading memories but we can still find and target each week’s best conditions so that you know when to start your fringe players.
As expected, last week’s relatively cool weather helped dampen scoring and the number of home runs. Last week was the first week since late May that fewer than 200 home runs were hit in the week. Want some good news? I believe this week’s weather will lead toward more scoring and more homers because temperatures will be 5 to 15 degrees above average at more than half the games. Want even better news? Medium range weather forecast models show above-average temps continuing well into the following week (Sept 16-22)! That’s great news for your hitters as this warm air should help minimize the hitting drop off that usually happens this time of year. Let’s see which games will give us the best – and worst – hitting conditions this week:
