Waiver wires are jumping right now in fantasy hoops and there are several must-add players in many leagues, some quality adds and some prospects to keep your eye on. Here’s the list of hot players with low rostership in the fantasy landscape right now.
Must Adds
Scoot Henderson, Blazers PG 51%
Scoot started last Tuesday and went off for a season-high 39 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals and eight 3-pointers. He’s my bet to be a silly-season MVP, just like he was last year, and you have to think the Blazers might shut Anfernee Simons down and just let Henderson play at some point. Henderson averaged 19.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 9.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.9 triples last April and it feels like he’s going to have another big run down the stretch this season. Since his 39-point explosion he’s averaged 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 2.5 triples over his last four games.
Isaiah Collier, Jazz PG 23%
Collier has hit double digits in assists in three straight games and has averaged 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.3 3-pointers over his last four. The Jazz are tanking and Collier suddenly looks like a silly-season hero. He’s one of the hottest players in fantasy right now and the window is closing quickly on him. Get him before it’s too late.
Kel’el Ware, Heat C 29%
Ware started on Tuesday and went off for 20 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes against the Blazers. He had 25 points, eight boards and two blocks on Sunday against the Spurs and if the Heat start him alongside Bam Adebayo the rest of the way, he’s going to be very fun to roster. For the record, the Heat played Ware over Adebayo down the stretch on Tuesday and he’s suddenly one of the favorites to win Rookie of the Year. If Collier’s not available, see if you can get Ware. .
Donte DiVincenzo, Wolves PG/SG/ 62%
DiVincenzo was starting for the Wolves and had scored at least 27 points in two of his last three games, knocking down nine 3-pointers along the way. He averaged 15.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 3.5 3-pointers in January but then suffered a toe injury and is now out indefinitely. I’m simply putting him on this list now that he’s been dropped in a lot of leagues and should easily turn it back on once he’s healthy again. The problem is that we don’t know when that will be. If you hear he’s going to make a return, pick him up, or throw him into an IR spot and wait it out. He should be locked and loaded in the starting unit the rest of the way, assuming the toe injury doesn’t ruin his season. For as long as DiVincenzo is out, Rob Dillingham (3%) is worth a shot, averaging 12.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and two 3-pointers in his three January games.
