Key Storylines

– Offensive Spacing for the Hawks: The Atlanta Hawks named Quin Snyder head coach towards the end of last season and only had 21 games under his tutelage. Now a full offseason later and the Hawks should be molded a bit more in his vision. More importantly, they shipped out John Collins in favor of starting Saddiq Bey with up-and-comer Jalen Johnson right behind him.

– Hornets defense: Is it improved? They were one of the worst defenses against opposing big men last season and really this is just all about effort. Can coach Steve Clifford get the guys on board with his plan to help them eke out some victories? This would be a good first test and the Hornets enter the season relatively healthy, minus Miles Bridges for his suspension.
