    Key Storylines

    – Top of the Conference: It’s going to be a tight battle for Western Conference standings for the majority of this season. The reigning champions have had a great start to the season and currently stand at the top of the Western Conference. However, the Oklahoma City Thunder are also having a strong start with a 2-0 record and are fourth in the conference standings. Chet Holmgren but already shown his elite rim protection and it will be a real test to go up against former MVP Nikola Jokic. If they can slow down Jokic, the Thunder have a real chance to hand the Nuggets their first loss of the season.

    – MVP Candidates: Nikola Jokic is having yet another one of those seasons we have come to expect, averaging 25.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 9.0 assists to start the season. On the other side of the court, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to dazzle for Oklahoma City and he is currently averaging 32.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists over the first two games of the season. If Gilgeous-Alexander continues this torrid pace and helps his team stay at the top of the conference, he will be a front-runner in the MVP race.
