Pickups of the Night for 3/13: Holy Micic!

  • Who’s coming in strong and ready to be plucked off the wire to win you your fantasy playoffs? Well, you’ve come to the right place, let’s check out some options!

    Standard Leagues – 14 players

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Vasilijie Micic, PG, Charlotte (29% on Yahoo)

Tonight: 30 minutes, 25 points (9-of-10 FG, 2-of-2 FT), eight assists, two steals and five triples

Charlotte has become a fantasy waiver wire team, producing plenty of options as we head into the silly season. Micic had a coming-out party tonight, impressively running this team even with Tre Mann returning. He was on fire all game and could barely miss, so this line was a true gem. Micic won’t shoot this well every night, but it looks like he’s going to get plenty of minutes to produce and is definitely worth a pickup if you need a guard.

Bruce Brown, PG/SG/SF, Toronto (46% on Yahoo)

Tonight: 33 minutes, 17 points (8-of-12 FG, 1-of-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block

Brown has returned to the team and has now put up two very useful fantasy lines. When given big minutes, he has a good skill set to produce for fantasy teams, but it is hard to gauge how secure his role is with R.J. Barrett out and Toronto seemingly heading toward development mode to finish the season. He’s worth a speculative pickup for now but be prepared to move on if his minutes don’t remain consistent.
