• This is the most important trade window of the season for fantasy basketball managers because the NBA’s trade deadline is right around the corner on Thursday, Feb. 6. Go get that difference maker who is going to win you a title this spring. The time is now, with fantasy league trade deadlines coming up soon as well. So let’s get cracking with a trade market primer for the “fantasy fishing” you are about to do.

    Sell High

    Luka Doncic

Raise your hand out there in Fantasyland if the doughy Doncic is ruining at least one of your teams this season. My hand is raised and I’m over it. This is clearly not the year to have Luka, whose overall numbers are down slightly anyway, with a PRA of 28-8-8 after a PRA of 34-9-10 last year.

As of an ESPN report on Dec. 27, Luka was out for at least one month due to a left calf strain. We are approaching that one month mark, but the words “at least” keep ringing in my head like noise pollution–aka, Taylor Swift. What if this is a two-month injury being disguised as a one-month injury? I don’t like these head games and I’m not a huge Luka fan because of the annoying sideshow with the refs, so I am looking to move him in a one-for-one trade for another rock star.

Trade targets: Karl-Anthony Towns, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, Domantas Sabonis, Stephen Curry, Tyrese Maxey and Tyrese Haliburton.
