It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating the brightest stars in baseball at the MLB All Star Game, but here we are, in the middle of August, with only three weeks left in the fantasy regular season. Time is slowly running out for teams on the verge of the playoffs, while those at the top should stay busy strengthening their rosters. It's easy to get complacent at the top, but the best teams will stay active until the final out of their fantasy championships.

Pickups of the Day for August 5th

With the summer temperature soaring as we enter the first full week of August, the heat is on, as fantasy managers fight to find valuable contributors from the waiver wire. Though at times it may seem like there is no value to be had, if you look wide enough and deep enough, winning pieces can be found. Sticking to the summer heat, I found some valuable players in the Arizona desert and the high humidity of South Beach.
