Key Storylines/What to Watch
Are the Jaguars good? Coming off two back-to-back victories over opponents we gave them no shot against, they now have their biggest challenge yet against the 3-0 Eagles. This will be a surprisingly juicy fantasy matchup as long as the Jaguars’ useful fantasy options stay hot against a scorching Eagles defense. For the Eagles, their run game we’ve grown accustomed to remains elite while Jalen Hurts has thrown for 305 passing yards per game while also running in three touchdowns himself. The winner of this game will be in prime position within their respective divisions to make the playoffs.
Top Starts
WR Christian Kirk: The Jaguars top prize in free agency has definitely paid off so far, scoring 21 PPR fantasy points per game. Hopefully, you paid that late round price tag on him as he looks to be a league winner this year. This matchup will be his toughest so far this season, but with the production he has produced so far with Trevor Lawrence appearing to break out this season, he should continue to lead the team in targets and remains a big play threat.
WR Devonta Smith: After producing a goose egg in Week 1, Smith has seen 19 targets over the last two weeks adding 7 and 8 receptions respectively including a WR1 performance in PPR scoring during Week 3. With A.J. Brown taking most of the coverage away, look for Smith to once again be a focal point in one of the league’s premiere offenses.
Boom/Bust Dart-Throw
WR Zay Jones: Another receiver benefiting from the Trevor Lawrence breakout campaign is the vet who finished Week 3 with 10-of-11 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown in the blowout win over the Chargers. Lawrence has been targeting Jones often, including the red zone where he has seen four targets thrown at him in the end zone so far this season. Jones will be a worthy flex play in a matchup where the Jaguars will need to score all the points they can get.
RB Kenneth Gainwell: The Eagles second-round RB who has mostly been used in passing-down situations comes into play in a matchup where points should be scored. Gainwell appears to receive the most work in games that are close and the Eagles need to make plays through the air, an area that they don’t seem to trust Miles Sanders as much. His value as the change-of-pace back for an elite offense in a game in which the Eagles will be throwing, Gainwell makes for a true boom-or-bust option at RB.
