• We have 12 games eligible on the slate tonight. The highest run totals on the board are the Tigers in Colorado sitting at 11 runs and the Marlins visiting the Braves at 10 runs. The Dodgers were in Colorado last night in bizarre conditions that caused the ball to whirl around in the outfield, ultimately leading to a 14-3 victory for LA. Other matchups of note for tonight’s slate are the White Sox traveling to Oakland, the Astros and Rangers starting a divisional Texas standoff, and Shohei Ohtani’s Angels continuing their homestand against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In June, Shohei Ohtani has a .392 batting average with 14 home runs. There’s still one day left in the month, so maybe he’s not done with his June tally just yet.

This is for the 6/30 4:05 PM PST classic slate on Draftkings.

    Writer’s Record

    33-21-1

Tampa Bay Rays ML (-130) @ Seattle Mariners

The Rays will be behind Shane McClanahan tonight. The Rays are 13-3 in games that McClanahan starts. Bryce Miller will be on the other side for Seattle and he has been up and down since the spectacular start he had this year.

    DFS Pillar Plays

    Dean Kremer

    Position: P

    Salary: $8,100

This is a pretty unpredictable pitching slate to make sense of. The higher priced guys can be considered a tad overpriced tonight, so I think it’s probably best to go with a mid level play in Dean Kremer. The Twins strike out more than any other team in the league and Kremer has been able to work out of trouble pretty consistently this year. He might get touched up a bit, but he should be able to provide solid production at home. The Twins rank in the bottom three over the last month in runs scored.

    Ronald Acuna Jr.

    Position: OF

    Salary: $6,600

Ronald Acuna has been red hot and the Marlins are starting 26-year-old Brian Hoeing in a tough spot at Truist Park. You could go with Matt Olson as a left-handed bat going against a right-handed starter, but for $200 more, I think Acuna has a little bit more upside with his potential to steal a base. Acuna had three home runs in the three game series against Minnesota and should be at the head of the high powered Braves offense tonight.

    Luis Robert Jr.

    Position: OF

    Salary: $4,700

Robert and the White Sox are in Oakland tonight to start a three game set. I’m not sure why Robert is priced under $5,000 when he is one of the hottest hitters going at the moment. The Yankees made easy work of Oakland, after losing the first game 2-1, scoring 21 runs in the following two games. When it comes to home runs, Robert trails only Shohei Ohtani in June, with 10 in the month.

    DFS Value Plays (<$3300 Salary)

    Jordan Walker

    Position: OF

    Salary: $3,200

St Louis’ top prospect has quietly had a really nice month. He is currently on a 17-game hit streak and the Cardinals welcome Luis Severino and the Yankees tonight in a classic blue bloods matchup. Walker is hitting .316 at home with an .815 OPS.

    Andy Ibanez

    Position: 2B/OF

    Salary: $3,000

Ibanez is going to be a part of what should be a high scoring affair in frigid Coors, which will give him plenty of opportunity to score some points. He’s had a nice June, carrying a .301 batting average with 22 hits in 23 games. You can play him in multiple positions, which is always helpful when it comes to filling out your roster.

    Mike Moustakas

    Position: 1B

    Salary: $3,100

Moose has played in every game so far since he has arrived in Anaheim. He homered yesterday and the Diamondbacks will be starting young Tommy Henry, who has a problem giving up home runs and long outs.
